“East Devon CLP is your local labour party – a hub for community organisation, thoughts, ideas and action in the East Devon area.”

We sit in the East Devon UK Parliamentary Constituency.

What is a Branch Labour party (BLP)?

Our CLP further organises itself into three smaller units called branches. This is where you can meet people on a more local basis. You will share your ideas on aiding your local communities and hopefully push these on to the wider community. These meetings also decide through your local Labour members who will be your local council candidate representatives for the party.

Our CLP is broken up into three dedicated branches:

Devon Labour

We are also part of Devon Labour.

What are Regional Parties?

In England, the Labour Party is made up of nine regions. They organise training, social events, and put on regional conferences where you can get to know members from across your region. They can also help you organise speakers for local events.

Here at East Devon we belong to the South West Labour region. To find out more about your regional party, click here.

East Devon CLP Meetings

As a CLP we meet up every  month to discuss current issues, latest events and campaigns. Branches also meet every month. Delegates elected by each branch will then vote on motions brought to a CLP meeting by one or more of our branches. Everyone can have the opportunity to speak and be listened to, branch delegates will vote on motions after you our members have been given opportunity to contribute your perspective to the debate.

So now you’ve covered all the jargon, how about you attend your next CLP meeting?
